“Well, I’m certainly not different from all of them, but there are some who are very different than I am. The ones who are only interested in talking to you because you’re willing to put up big bucks… are not the kinds of, that’s not the kind of firm I am. I’ll talk to you whether you’re willing to put up big bucks or not. Ultimately, I have to get paid.
But I confess that there are many times when I have agreed to take, even as a flat fee, something a lot less that what I should have taken and should have gotten, only because the situation was really dire for one party, and the other side was totally unconscionable. And there needed to be somebody to step in to help the little guy.”
